Siomara Van Bochove
Artist
Siomara Ratna van Bochove's artistic practice finds its foundation in her family and its multicultural legacy. As a multicultural body, she recognizes the divide that often exists in discussions and explorations of racial experiences, leaving little room for ambiguity in identity. In her work she explores this space in-between cultures and the nuances of her hybrid identity. Through a multidisciplinary approach and the use of sonic resonance, she transforms feelings of displacement and a sense of not belonging into dream scenarios of what might emerge from her experiences and polyphony, while aiming to restore the relationship and connection with her heritage.
